Launched in February 2021, More Perfect Union’s Emmy award-winning coverage has garnered over 1 billion video views and over 5 million followers and subscribers.<br><br><strong>About The Position<br><br></strong>This position is perfect for an individual with entry-level video editing experience, an interest in writing and producing digital videos, strong time management, and a desire to learn in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.<br><br><strong>Core Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Providing research assistance, fact checking and copy editing for video scripts</li><li>Reviewing and checking video edits for quality control</li><li>Creating and copy editing closed captioning files for all long-form videos</li><li>Assisting Video Editors in organizing and reviewing footage for short documentary projects</li><li>Reviewing interview transcripts and identifying strong soundbites for producers</li><li>Source and verify data, reports, and academic studies to strengthen editorial narratives.</li><li>Identify important, underreported stories and provide summaries with key statistics, expert perspectives, and historical context.</li><li>Monitor and analyze news trends, policy developments, and public sentiment.</li><li>Performing administrative duties</li><li>Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet expected deadlines</li><li>Maintain high standard of work in a nimble, fast paced environment</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned<br><br></li></ul><strong>Experience/Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Experience with Adobe Premiere desired;</li><li>Documentary, journalism, and/or political experience;</li><li>Producing, scripting, research or development experience a plus;</li><li>Familiarity with national politics and labor issues; </li><li>A passion for economic justice and workers rights; </li><li>Strong understanding of social media, email etiquette and exceptional interpersonal communication skills; </li><li>Studied or currently studying in journalism, communications, film, marketing, public relations or related field; </li><li>Available full-time hours and ability to excel in a remote - work from home environment;</li><li>Ability to operate in a nimble environment.</li></ul>
